I'm pleased to announce that the $750 SLF Older Writers Grant has been awarded to writer Andrea Hairston. :-) It makes me happy, giving writers money. I look forward to reading her work at some point; I hope this grant helps free her to up to do a bit more writing.

Speaking of SLF, according to the website, membership dues are being accepted for 2004, not for 2005. I wrote to the membership email about this, and received an empty email in reply. When will it be possible to pay our 2005 dues? If it is possible now, has the cost increased, or is it the same $30 as previously? Also, do I need to pay for both 2004 and 2005, since I first paid in 2003 as a Founding Member, or was the original payment for 2004?
David, sorry for the delay in responding. We’ve all been very slow at the SLF at updating this info; I’ll try to make sure it happens before I leave town. But briefly, you can pay now for 2005, it’s the same $30, and your 2003 Founding Member payment counted for 2004. Thanks.
