  1. I don’t know about Van Morrison — I can’t even swear that this is James Taylor, since I don’t remember recording it and I’m not familiar enough with his voice to be certain. But that’s what iTunes claims it is — oddly, iTunes doesn’t know what album it’s from. It’s the song that goes, “Do you remember when, we used to sing, sha-la-la-la-la-la-ti-da!” I’m not sure I got the number of la’s right, though. 🙂

  2. By the way, if you like Dar Williams be sure to listen to “The End of the Summer”. A poet would HAVE to love the words to that song.

  3. The ones I don’t have are: My Heart’s Tonight in Ireland (I love the version on that album of yours, but I’m not fond of anything else on that album, and the iMS doesn’t have any version of the song); Let the River Run; Devil Went Down to Georgia; Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (I prefer the original Eurythmics version, but I don’t have that either); Please; Stay Home; All Star (nothing from the Shrek album appeals to me much at all, sadly); Hail Holy Queen; Englishman in New York.

Of the ones I do have, most of them are 4s for me. “Babylon” and “Galileo” and maybe a couple others are somewhere near the 4/5 border.

I really oughtta get some Stan Rogers on CD, or else import my cassettes…. But I keep hoping the iMS will start carrying his music.

Re “Brown Eyed Girl”: there are a whole bunch of different versions. After waffling for a long time between Van Morrison (who wrote it) and Jimmy Buffett (whose version is better known, I think, and who has it on at least four different albums, including two live albums), I eventually opted for the studio version of the Buffett version. In case you want to compare the one you have with the ones available at the iMS to see if any of them match, note that iMS spells it with a space rather than a hyphen in “Brown Eyed” (and won’t find it if you search with a hyphen).
