When I was in high school, at Miss Porter's, my British ensemble music teacher asked us at the beginning of class if we liked Monty Python (teacher had probably just made some joke or other). And I said, "Who's he?" Teacher was suitably appalled and dragged us all over to his house to listen to MP records for rest of class period.
