Oh, one of those days…

Oh, one of those days when I've run low on little tasks and am left with several big ones that I don't want to face...

The two main things I have to do right now are draft the Due bio-bibliography, and finish editing the POD manuscript. There really isn't that much to do on either of them, in theory -- I suspect if I powered through, I could finish them today. (Though I do have to go to campus for a few hours for a colloquium with Kevin McIlvoy, editor of Puerto del Sol). And I really ought to just do that -- the Due is due on Monday, and it would be so sensible to do it a few days in advance; I've done all the relevant reading (as far as I can tell -- I spent a while in the MLA and other databases and couldn't actually find any scholarly criticism on her...I'm a little worried that I just missed something) and ought to be ready to write. And of course, the POD is painfully late. 'Cause I'm a goober.

Instead, of course, I could finish doing those dishes (two sinks and a dishwasher left to go...and really, that's less than half the amount I had to start with). I could...umm...straighten up the place, although it's already pretty neat at the moment. I could reorganize my files -- that should be good for killing an hour, at least. I could answer all the hanging e-mails...that might even make me feel productive. And there are always stories waiting to be revised -- in fact, that really is one of the tasks for this weekend, revising a couple of stories and sending the damn things out. But it's better to do the Due first, dangit. We'll see how I do.
