Lessee — so what did I…

Lessee -- so what did I do Friday and Saturday? Oh yeah -- I read. I devoured Donaldon's two Mordant's Need novels. I read Friday night until 3 a.m. I haven't done that in a long time. I basically read all day yesterday except for a few hours on the phone. The books were deeply satisfying, and make me want to reread the Thomas Covenant series. I think I'll wait until I read his other series, which I haven't even looked at. I'm not going to start that 'til next weekend, though -- I have to get some work done this week!

I did do work this morning, though (before and after having a nice chat with Heather). Plans progress on the mysterious project -- there have been a lot of financial details to figure out, and y'all know how I feel about those! But it looks like we may have come to a decision...and in the process, I've figured out that I definitely want to try to incorporate CS as a nonprofit organizaton. I'm going to have to discuss that with the staff, to make sure they understand the implications. Some of the staff I think would rather make it into a big money-making magazine, but I'm just not interested in doing that -- if that's what they want to do, I think they're probably going to have to do it with another magazine. Oof. That sounded firm, didn't it? I didn't know I had such strong feelings about it until I wrote that. Interesting. Anyway -- more on that later, I'm sure. Once we're non-profit, we'll be accepting donations. :-)

Not sure what I want to do with the rest of the day. Dinner with Kevin, but that's not 'til 8-ish. I have some grading, but no more than 2 hours. I did buy some more books, so I could read...it's funny. I read hardly anything for months, and suddenly I'm reading like a madman again. When I was a kid, I used to read like this. I'd go to the library on Saturday with my dad, check out 10 books -- all that they'd let me take -- and have them finished by Tuesday. Then I'd just suffer until he could take me to the library again. I think once Kevin leaves for Chicago, I may do a lot of reading. :-)

Hrmph. Really not much interesting to say. Well, perhaps I'll check in with y'all later; have a good Sunday...

4:15. Hey, I remembered something I wanted to ask you guys. There's a magazine that wants to reprint my best poem. I dunno what my best poem is. Vote? Please send me your vote on which one is my best poem. I'm leaning towards something from '99, but not sure.
